Message from the Director

Dear Rainier Families,

We have now officially closed out our Expeditions program for the 2016-17 school year.  Our eight week intensive program ended with an amazing Celebration of Learning on Thursday night with students presenting their projects.  We saw videos and presentation on human sexuality.  We saw students pitch their business ideas.  We saw a poetry slam and films screened.  Parents and students participated in a socratic discussion on school security.  Students put their art on display and showed off their acting skills.  It was a wonderful night and we were so proud of our students and the work they did.

We couldn’t have done this without our passionate, caring, and flexible Expeditions teachers who supported our students throughout the year.  We would like to thank them for every lesson they planned, every project they graded, and all the times they showed patience and support for our students.

We have found that students are always very curious about what Expedition courses we will offer the next year and what courses they will get to take.  Therefore, we have started the course selection process early this year!  All students should have access to our Expeditions course catalog and should submit their preferences in the Expeditions course selection form soon!
